            The PAN-HELLENIC NETWORK OF ECOLOGICAL ORGANIZATIONS is an association of grassroots environmental organizations around Greece.

   The central offices of the network are in Volos (Thessaly). Today the groups-members of the network are 64 and allocated all around Greece.

   The network represents most of the grassroots environmental organizations of Greece. Ecological Movement of Patras is one of the founding members.

    The aims of the network are the making of common positions on the environmental issues of national level, the formation of relevant goals and the coordination of effective action towards them.

    Its foundation has been long and toilsome. Before the founding conference in Volos, in June 1998, a number of unofficial but substantial annual meetings had been held, under the auspices and the support of EKBY (Greek Biotope/wetlands Centre) www.ekby.gr in Fanari Komotinis (1991), Siderokastro Serron (1992), Verria (1993), Igoumenitza (1994), Chrysoypoli (1994), Messolonghi-Agrinio (1995), Athens 1996.

   Eventually, in 1998, in the annual meeting of Volos the statutes of the network were approved and it has an upward course since.
